Jessica’s Color Room Year In Review!
2020 has finally come to an end. We can all agree that this year posed many challenges. In reflecting upon our year in review, we also had many blessings and things to feel grateful for.
The beginning of 2020 began just like any other year. Starting off a fresh new year with new ideas, and a solid team to help carry out the mission at Jessica’s Color Room. Then…the world stopped. We were told to close, leaving everyone uncertain about what the next months would have in store for us.
But to our surprise lemons slowly turned into lemonade, Our amazing customers showed their support in so many ways. Calling, writing, and buying gift certificates to show their support.
Good wishes are contagious, and we got to work planning for reopen, and took the time to work on the things we’d been meaning to get to; like updating the website, making repairs to the salon, and identifying ways to better serve our clients. We also utilized the time “off” by putting our washer and dryer to good use by providing laundry services to the first responders that were risking their lives to help keep all of us safe.
In April, we sent our a press release and to our surprise the story was covered by the Mayor of Middletown, Newsbreak.com, The Middletown Patch, and The Middletown Press), NBC Connecticut, Fox 61, and Kelly and Ryan on April 22, 2020.
We were so grateful for the response, and felt so good to be doing something to help.
Jessica’s Color Room reopens in June
After what seemed to be a lifetime of waiting to hear the news to reopen, we finally got the green light to open our doors once more on June 1.
We couldn’t believe the positive response to this. The phone was ringing off the hook with customers who couldn’t wait to come in. We were so busy those first few weeks, and admittedly very tired. But so happy we were open, and thankful for the kindness and patience that continued to pour from all of our customers.
Jessica’s Color Room also welcomed new staff to the salon. Frankie, Amy, Meagan, and Gabbie joined our team this year.
It was a challenging year for all of us, but it was also a year of learning, receiving, creativity, hard work, and blessings.
We hope 2021 will be a year of health, happiness and celebration for all. And look forward to continuing to serve you.
We will continue to do our part to keep our staff and customers safe.
