First in State to Launch Cosmetology Apprentice Program

Jessica's Color Room First in State to Launch Cosmetology Apprentice Program

Jessica's Color Room Salon is thrilled to announce the launch of Connecticut's first-ever cosmetology apprentice program. The program combines paid on-the-job training with classroom instruction to prepare employees for a successful career in cosmetology.

"We are so proud to be first in the state to offer the cosmetology apprentice program, which will create more opportunities for people to enter the field and to grow in their careers," said Jessica, owner of Jessica's Color Room Salon. "We are also honored to have written the curriculum Connecticut will use for future cosmetology apprentice programs."

The cosmetology program focuses on the study and application of beautifying hair. Along with classroom experience, the program will involve practical, real-world experience at the salon―all of which can help apprentices hone their existing skills and gain new ones.

Currently, two apprentices are enrolled in the salon's cosmetology apprenticeship. Apprentices must complete 2,000 working/training hours so, at 30 hours a week, they can complete the program in about a year and a half. They then take the state board test to become a licensed cosmetologist.

Overall, Jessica's Color Room's cosmetology apprentice program is an excellent opportunity for apprentices to expand their knowledge and become competent professionals in the cosmetology field. For more information on Jessica's Color Room School of Cosmetology enrollment, contact 860-344-8677.
