In 2002, Jessica Dudley opened her salon in the Middletown, CT community. Later, she and her team continued to make good on that mission every day, one guest at a time, only now they are located in the Cromwell, CT community instead.
We treasure and value our guests. Our goal from inception has been to provide each guest with a luxurious and relaxing retreat experience combined with the very best in beauty services. Our team goes to extraordinary lengths to personalize each guest's experience. While the salon’s clientele is primarily women, we do provide services to male clients as well. Jessica and our team are committed to meeting each guest’s individual needs and have built the salon believing that meeting those needs shouldn’t be dependent on the schedule of any one service provider. It’s not uncommon for a client to receive services from two or three team members. The Color Lounge™ philosophy is one of collaboration. That is the type of salon environment that we will help our franchisees build.
If you are from the area, maybe you saw The Color Lounge™ on the television screens and in the newspapers during the early stages of COVID-19, when businesses closed to follow the federal and state mandates. During that time, we focused on providing home hair color products for our clients and worked with them over Facetime and other platforms to teach them the proper way to use the products. But we wanted to do more during a challenging time to find a way to help the community. And, with our CEO’s leadership, we did so by volunteering to handle the laundry needs of the area’s first responders.
After COVID restrictions let up, it was full steam ahead for The Color Lounge™ and we haven’t looked back since.

We understand that investing in a franchise is a big step. You may be considering this option and several other opportunities. What sets The Color Lounge™ opportunity apart is that it offers a chance to enter the beauty industry and be part of an established business model. We are 100% committed to training and supporting our franchisees and doing everything we can to help them succeed.
With more than two decades of experience, we have developed strong marketing strategies to help you promote your salon. We have experience with various advertising campaigns (including social media). We will share our marketing strategies with our franchisees.
We will guide you in the size of the location, the number of employees you’ll need to start, what kind of accessory products you will want to sell, and give you other direction on services and products.
Our understanding of the market has enabled us to understand the kinds of locations that work best for The Color Lounge™ franchise location. Generally, a starting location should have at least 800 square feet of space. A franchisee might have between two and three stations, but the space should have room for expansion as the business grows. We will work with franchisees to select the location and advise on how to set up your salon!
Prior business experience is helpful, and a knowledge of the beauty industry is beneficial. However, a commitment to hard work and a desire to succeed can go a long way. We will train the right people.
