Q&A with Hairstylist Rachel of Jessica’s Color Room

Q&A with Hairstylist Rachel

We interviewed our hairstylist Rachel who has worked for our salon for 10 years. Rachel excels in blonde highlights and extensions and is our lead educator for stylists. Rachel pays attention to the integrity of each guest’s hair and offers honest advice about how to achieve hair goals. She is passionate about teaching others and seeing the new talent grow with her guidance.

1. How did you get started in the hairstyling industry?

I got started in the industry through my mom. She is a hairstylist, and I grew up going to her salon and watching her through the years.

2. What are you known for at the salon?

People say that I am known for a lot of blonding, extensions, and keeping the integrity of the hair so it’s the best it can be.

3. What’s your proudest professional accomplishment?

My proudest accomplishment is working closely with Jessica to create the training program here at the salon. I love teaching, and I love watching the girls’ skills grow. It was an honor to be part of creating the program here.

4. How do you build relationships with your clients?

I build relationships with my clients by wanting to learn about their at-home routines, such as what products they use and their challenges. This way, I can better create their hair and give them the tips and tricks to have the perfect hairstyle for them.

5. What is your favorite hair trend right now?

My favorite hair trend is extensions. Adding length to the hair gives everyone the opportunity to have any hair color they want, their dream hair, their dream length. It’s amazing for almost everybody.

6. What inspires you most about working for Jessica’s Color Room?

I love working at Jessica’s Color Room salon. I really value all the girls here and the relationships we have built throughout the years. Everybody is amazing with teamwork, and they are always willing to help anyone out.

7. What do you like to do in your free time?

I love hanging out with my boyfriend and my dog. We go camping a lot. We also spend time with our family and outdoors, hiking and boating. I also enjoy creating projects with my Cricut cutting machine (a Cricut is an electronic cutting machine that can create designs from materials like iron-on transfers, paper, card stock, and vinyl).
